My version of Nan’s monologue from Brandon Jacobs Jenkins‘ play Gloria explored how time and memory function in traumatic situations, progressing non-linearly and fragmented based on a domino-effect of panicked thoughts. This piece was visually designed to explore shifting compositions of light on the human body, projecting merging sequences of the performer’s own childhood videos and piano playing onto herself.
